Day 1 Vancouver – Hong Kong
Depart Vancouver for Singapore with Cathay Pacific.
Day 2 Hong Kong - Singapore
Arrive Singapore. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 3 Singapore (B)
Half-day city tour. Free time in afternoon.
Day 4 Singapore – Tampin – Malacca (B/L)
Meet at hotel between 0630-0645 hours. Transfer to the train station departing 0750 hours to Tampin (Train time subject to change). Enjoy the rural scenery as the train passes through villages and plantations. Arrive Tampin station at 1250 hours. The driver and guide will meet you here and proceed to Malacca. Tour the historical sites such as Cheng Hoong Teng temple – the oldest functioning Chinese temple in Malaysia, Kapitan Kling Mosque, Jonker’s Street (Antique row), Baba and Nyonya Museum, Stafhuy’s Building, Malacca Clock Tower, Christ Church and the famous Porta de Santiago.
Day 5 Malacca – Kuala Lumpur (160 km) (B/L)
Depart to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia (en-route visit a typical Malay ‘s House) and the countryside. Lunch along the way. On arrival at Kuala Lumpur proceed on a city tour of Kuala Lumpur. Places to be visited are the King’s Palace (photo stop), National Mosque, Independent Square, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Selangor Club, St Mary’s Church and the world’s tallest free standing Flag Pole. Pass by colorful Chinatown.
Day 6 Kuala Lumpur – Fire Flies (B/D)
Free at leisure in the morning and afternoon. Around 2100 hours, proceed to Kuala Selangor, situated about 90 minutes drive away from Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival, you will be taken to visit a Chinese fishing village followed by a sumptuous Chinese seafood dinner. After dinner, the highlight of the evening – Firefly watching. You will be rowed upstream where you can see thousand of fireflies flickering like Christmas lights in mangrove trees lining the banks of the river. Driven back to the city after the tour. Reach Kuala Lumpur around 2300 hours.
Day 7 Kuala Lumpur – Batu Caves – Cameron Highlands (B/L)
After breakfast, we depart to the countryside. We make a short stop at the Selangor Pewter factory, then proceed to visit the Batu Caves, a huge limestone outcrop that houses some very ornate Hindu temples. Batu Caves are popular places of worship for the Hindus and each year during their suspicious celebration of Thaipusam hundreds of thousands of Hindu will throng the temple. After which we proceed to Cameron Highlands, which is 1542 meters above sea level. We will proceed north to the Hill Resort of Cameron Highlands, making another enroute stop to visit a cottage industry making bamboo baskets and the Lata Iskandar Waterfall. Upon arrival at the Cameron Highlands, check in at the hotel. Free time in the afternoon.
Day 8 Cameron Highlands – Penang (B/L)
Tour of Cameron Highlands visiting a tea plantation, Tea factory, a vegetable farm and the market square. Afterward continue the journey and drive towards Penang. Enroute visit the Sam Poh Tong Cave Temple in Ipoh, the Ubudiah Mosque, Iskandariah Palace and Istana Kenangan Museum. Cross over to Penang using the third longest bridge in the world arriving in the evening.
Day 9 Penang (B)
Discover the enchanting beauty of Penang and her secrets with this essential circular island tour that takes you through idyllic and picturesque fishing villages, fruits clove and nutmeg plantations with a stop at the Penang Batik Handicraft center to observe how local Malaysian Batik is being made. Proceed then to the infamous Snake Temple where pit vipers coil unperturbed on alters and temple grounds.
Day 10 Penang – Hong Kong - Vancouver (B)
Free at leisure until departure transfer to airport for flight back to Vancouver.
