Itinerary
Day 01 (06 Oct. Tue) Canada to Kunming
Depart Canada for Kunming .
Day 02 (07 Oct. Wed) Kunming (-/-/-)
A rrive in Kunming , meet your guide at airport and transferred to Kunming Expo Garden Hotel. Known as the "City of Eternal Spring", Kunming is one of the cities of historical and cultural interest in China . 2 nights at Expo Garden Hotel****.
Day 03 (08 Oct. Thu) Kunming (B/L/D)
Morning free at leisure. After lunch visit Yuantong Temple , Green Lake Park and Old Town with local market.
Day 04 (09 Oct. Fri) Kunming (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Full day visit Botanical Institute and Horticultural Expo Garden . Horticultural Expo Garden is full of various flowers and plants from many countries and including exquisite gardens. Lunch at local restaurant and dinner of Yunnan specialties followed by a cultural show "Impression Yunnan".
Day 05 (10 Oct. Sat) Kunming-Lijiang (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to the Stone Forest and on the way back visit a minority village to discover the life of the local farmers. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. In the evening, 50-min flight to Lijiang, 2 nights at Lijiang Jiannanchun Hotel****.
Day 06 (11 Oct. Sun) Lijiang (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. visit the Black Dragon Pond incl. the Moon Embracing Pavilion and Dongba Museum . Then walk through the old town and climb to Wangulou Tower , the highest point of the old town, to enjoy a bird view of the town. Lijiang is a small old town laced with canals and bridges, and provides many opportunities to observe the Naxi traditional way of life. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants followed by a Naxi Music Concert.
Day 7 (12 Oct. Mon) Lijiang-Xishuangbanna (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to the Yak Meadow of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with a chair lift ride to discover the much famed thirteen peaks. On the way back, visit the Jade Peak Monastery, Baisha Village and the Longquan Village . Rest of the day at leisure. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. One hour flight to Xishuangbanna in the evening. Overnight at Dai Garden Hotel****.
Day 08 (13 Oct. Tue) Jinghong-Menglun (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Jinghong is the main city of Xishuangbanna , also the first big city on Mekong River . Then drive along the Mekong River to Ganlanba. Visit local morning market, Buddhism temple in the village and Dai family. After lunch continue drive to Menglun Botanical Garden , the largest tropical botanical garden in China . In the garden, you can find interesting and beautiful specimens such as the "King Lotus", an aquatic plant with a floating leaf capable of support up to 20kg . The fast growing "Anthocephalus", each year this tree increases it's ring growth by an inch and a half, faster than any pine tree. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Overnight at Menglun Botanical Garden Hotel**.
Day 09 (14 Oct. Wed) Menglun-Jinghong (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Second day to visit the Botanical Garden. Will visit different gardens, such as bamboo garden, palm garden, economic plants garden, and flower garden. The garden also hosts one of the most poisonous plants in the world, the "Upas Tree" or "Tree of Death". If the sap of the tree enters the blood stream, through a cut for example, it's said that the victim will only be able to make nine steps before they die. Late afternoon drive back to Jinghong. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. 2 nights at Dai Garden Hotel.
Day 10 (15 Oct. Thu) Jinghong (B/L/D)
Day excursion to Menghai. To visit tea plantation, Octagonal Pavilion, Aini Village and Nannuoshan Old Tea Trees (more than 800 years). Lunch at local restaurant, dinner of Dai Specialties with dance show while dinner.
Day 11 (16 Oct. Fri) Jinghong-Kunming (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Visit Tropical Flower Garden and Manting Park in Jinghong. Fly to Kunming in the afternoon. Visit old town Kunming with bird and flower market. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Overnight at Expo Garden Hotel.
Day 12 (17 Oct. Sat) Kunming-Beijing-Canada (B/-/-)
After breakfast transfer to airport for your flight back home. Optional stopover in Beijing is available upon request.
