1/Wed Home City - Shanghai
Depart your home city to Shanghai with China Eastern.
Day 2/Thu Shanghai
Upon arrival, transfer to hotel, hotel provided by China Eastern.
Day 3/Fri Shanghai - Moscow (MU591 1450/2010) (D)
Transfer to airport and fly to Moscow. Upon arrival transfers
to hotel.
Dinner. Hotel: Cosmos Hotel or similar.
Day 4/Sat Moscow (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit Red Square and St. Basil's Cathedral.
Drive to the
sparrow hills to see the Olympic stadium and the building
of the Moscow
State University. After lunch, promenade along the Arbat Street
where to shop for
typical Russian crafts and gifts. Then visit some Moscow metro
stations decorated
with sculptures, paintings, mosaics and chandeliers. Dinner
at the hotel restaurant.
Day 5/Sun Moscow (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit to the Kremlin and see the Cathedral
Square with wonderful
Cathedrals of 15-17th cents with its gold leafed domes and
breathtaking interiors, the huge Emperor Cannon and 200 ton
Emperor Bell, the largest in the world, the
Armory Museum, the oldest museum of Russia. Lunch at the hotel.
Time at leisure.
Evening enjoy a famous Moscow Circus. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 6/Mon Moscow - St. Petersburg (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit the Tretiakov Art Gallery. Lunch at
local restaurants. Time at
leisure. After dinner at the hotel, transfers to the railway
station for the overnight
sleeper service to St. Petersburg. Accommodation in shared
4-berth compartments.
Day 7/Tue St. Petersburg (B/L/D)
Arrive St. Petersburg, transfer to hotel for breakfast. After
breakfast - half day tour of St. Petersburg, a city of beautiful
Baroque Palaces, picturesque canals, splendid
avenues and elaborate cathedrals. Visit the Peter and Paul
Fortress. It was built
during the Russian-Swedish war but then its bastions were
turned into political
prison cells. Peter and Paul Cathedral was the burial-vault
of Russian Emperors since
1725. Lunch at a city restaurant. Time at leisure. Dinner
at the hotel.
Day 8/Wed St. Petersburg (B/L/D)
After breakfast visit the Hermitage Museum, one of the biggest
museums of the
World. Its collection counts over 2.7 million items, including
masterpieces of
Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Rodin, Rembrandt etc. Lunch at
a city restaurant.
Time at leisure. In the evening - folklore concert. Dinner
at the hotel.
Day 9/Thu St. Petersburg (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit to Petrodvorets (Peterhof), the Imperial
Summer Residence on
the Gulf of Finland. The palaces and parks with fountains
were built in 18th cent.
The tour of the Big Palace includes gala halls, residential
rooms and studies. Here
art pieces of the 18th and 19th cents. After lunch, return
to the city.
Day 10/Fri St. Petersburg - Moscow - Shanghai (B)
Transfer to airport for your flight to Shanghai via Moscow.
(Overnight flight)
Day 11/Sat Shanghai - Beijing
Transit in Shanghai. Arrive Beijing, transfer to hotel. Hotel:
Chang An Grand Hotel
or similar (5 star).
Day 12/Sun Beijing (B/L/D)
Full day excursion to the famous Tian An Men Square; the Forbidden
City. After
lunch, visit the Summer Palace.
Day 13/Mon Beijing (B/L/D)
After breakfast, full day excursion the only man-made structure
that
can be seen from the moon -the Great Wall and Ming Tombs.
Day 14/Tue Beijing (B/L/D)
Morning visit the Temple of Heaven to see local people doing
Tai Chi and exercises.
Hutong Tour. Peking Duck dinner & cultural show.
Day 15/Wed Beijing - Xian (B/L/D)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to
Xian, one of China's seven
ancient capitals. Afternoon visit the wild Goose Pagoda &
Provincial History
Museum. Hotel: Xian Garden Hotel or similar (4 star).
Day 16/Thu Xian (B/L/D)
Today, visit the site of more than 6000 life-size Terra-cotta
Warriors & Horses-
"Eighth Wonder of the world." Tonight enjoy a Tang
Dynasty banquet dinner show.
Day 17/Fri Xian - Shanghai (B)
Fly to Shanghai. Meet and transfer to hotel. Hotel: Ocean
Hotel or similar (4 star).
Day 18/Sat Shanghai (B/L/D)
Full day sightseeing includes the Bund, the magnificent Mandarin
garden -Yu
Yuan and Jade Buddha Temple, Carpet Factory. Evening enjoy
the Acrobatic show.
Day 19/Sun Shanghai (B/L/D)
Check out hotel before morning excursion to Zhujiajiao, a
famous river town near Shanghai. Afternoon visit the Shanghai
Museum.
Day 20/Mon Shanghai - Vancouver (B)
Transfer to airport for your flight home.
