2012 West Malaysia & Singapore

Day 1 Canada (Vancouver) – Hong Kong
Depart Vancouver for Singapore via Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific Airways.

Day 2 Hong Kong – Singapore
Upon arrival in Singapore, meet and transfer to the hotel. 

Day 3 Singapore (B)
Half-day city tour in the morning and afternoon free for leisure. 

Day 4 Singapore – Tampin – Malacca (B/L)
Meet at hotel before 7AM. Transfer to the train station departing before 8AM to Tampin (Train time subject to change). Enjoy the rural scenery as the train passes through villages and plantations. Arrive Tampin station at 12:50PM. The driver and guide will meet you here and proceed to Malacca. Tour the historical sites such as Cheng Hoong Teng temple – the oldest functioning Chinese temple in Malaysia, Kapitan Kling Mosque, Jonker’s Street (Antique row), Baba and Nyonya Museum, Stafhuy’s Building, Malacca Clock Tower, Christ Church and the famous Porta de Santiago.

Day 5 Malacca – Kuala Lumpur (160 km) (B/L)
Depart to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia (en-route visit a typical Malay ‘s House) and the countryside. Lunch along the way. On arrival at Kuala Lumpur proceed on a city tour of Kuala Lumpur. Places to be visited are the King’s Palace (photo stop), National Mosque, Independent Square, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Selangor Club, St Mary’s Church and the world’s tallest free standing Flag Pole. Pass by colorful Chinatown.

Day 6 Kuala Lumpur – Fire Flies (B/D)
Free at leisure in the morning. Check out Kuala Lumpur, a shopping paradise! Around 15:30 hrs, we proceed to Kuala Selangor, situated about 90 minutes drive away from Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Selangor has much to offer especially to those who wish to take a peek at Malaysian rural life. Fishing and farming are the main occupations here, although a large part of the area has also been cultivated with oil palm and rubber. Upon arrival, you will be taken to a visit a Chinese fishing village. Tour break for dinner. You may want to try a sumptuous Chinese seafood dinner. After which we will treat you to the highlight of the evening: fireflies watching. You will be rowed upstream where you can see thousands of fireflies flickering like Christmas lights in mangrove trees lining the banks of the river. After this tour, you are driven back to the city, reaching KL city around 23:00 hrs.

Day 7 Kuala Lumpur – Batu Caves – Cameron Highlands (B/L)
After breakfast, we depart to the countryside. We make a short stop at the Selangor Pewter factory, then proceed to visit the Batu Caves, a huge limestone outcrop that houses some very ornate Hindu temples. Batu Caves are popular places of worship for the Hindus and each year during their suspicious celebration of Thaipusam hundreds of thousands of Hindu will throng the temple. After which we proceed to Cameron Highlands, which is 1542 meters above sea level. We will proceed north to the Hill Resort of Cameron Highlands, making another enroute stop to visit a cottage industry making bamboo baskets and the Lata Iskandar Waterfall. Upon arrival at the Cameron Highlands, check in at the hotel. Free time in the afternoon.

Day 8 Cameron Highlands – Penang (B/L)
Tour of Cameron Highlands visiting a tea plantation, Tea factory, a vegetable farm and the market square. Afterward continue the journey and drive towards Penang. Enroute visit the Sam Poh Tong Cave Temple in Ipoh, the Ubudiah Mosque, Iskandariah Palace and Istana Kenangan Museum. Cross over to Penang using the third longest bridge in the world arriving in the evening. Check in at the hotel.

Day 9 Penang – Hong Kong – Canada (Vancouver) (B)
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your homeward flight via Hong Kong.
