Highlights of Indonesia

Day 1 Vancouver – Hong Kong
Depart from Vancouver to Jakarta via Hong Kong.

Day 2 Hong Kong – Jakarta
Upon arrival, meet and transfer to Hotel.

Day 3 Jakarta – Bandung (B/L)
Leaving Jakarta for Bandung via Jagorawi Highway around 8:00AM. First stop in Bogor to visit the famous Botanical Garden, which was founded in 1817. It covers an immense 87 ha. of land and houses of thousands of plant species, then driving through manicured green tea plantations in Puncak Pass. Lunch stop is provided here before proceeding further on to Bandung by way of Cianjur.

Day 4 Bandung (B/L)
After breakfast, proceed on a tour featuring Tangkuban Prahu Crater and Ciater Hot Spring. Lunch en route. Returning to Bandung with stop at Lembang fruit market. Afternoon is spent visiting Pak Ujo’s Angklung School in Padasuka Village (optional - is subject to show’s schedule otherwise short demonstrations are performed).

Day 5 Bandung – Jogia (B/L)
Transfer to railway-station (Around 7:00AM) to get morning train to Yogyakarta. Enjoy a scenic rail journey passing the lush Parahyangan highlands with terraced rice fields, green valleys and rural villages under string of volcanoes. At around 3:00PM expectedly arriving in Yogyakarta (Jogia), and then direct check in at hotel. Evening free for leisure.

Day 6 Borobudur and Village Life (B/L)
Today’s program features a visit to Borobudur temple, it is reputedly one of the grandeur of Buddhist monument rivaling to Angkor Wat. It has 10 levels to pronounce the sacred number of Buddhist rituals and moral stories beautifully sculptured on its walls and balustrades. Next, visiting the near by yet equally interesting, Mendut Temple with its charming 3-meter tall Buddha Statue. The trip then proceeds to Candirejo Village and join an exploratory village excursion either on foot or on horse drawn carriage to have a closer look at local arts, traditions and Javanese daily life. Following the road back to hotel.

Day 7 Yogyakarta City Tour and Prambanan Temple (B/L)
Breakfast at hotel. Morning is spent exploring Sultan’s Palace; stroll at the colorful bird market and Taman Sari (the ruin of Water Palace built by the 1^st Sultan). Later on moving on to Prambanan Temple or known also as “Slender Maiden”, this elegant temple complex was built in 9^th Century dedicated to the ultimate worship to the Trinity of Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma.

Day 8 Yogyakarta – Solo – Malang (B/L)
Leaving Yogyakarta around 7:00AM by car for Malang. Stop off in Solo visiting Triwindu flea market and Pasar Gede then the drive takes you through Java’s heartland passing endless teak forest and lush countryside. Lunch is included en route. Stay overnight in a charming town of Malang.

Day 9 Malang – Bromo (B/L)
After breakfast at hotel, sightseeing of Malang featuring drive around town past colonial buildings, visit to a vibrant bird market and drive along tree-lined Ijen boulevard, later onward to visit Singosari temple of 14th AD. Lunch is included. Then proceed further onward to Bromo area for overnight.

Day 10 Bromo – Surabaya – Bali (B)
Leave the cottage around 4:00AM and join Mt. Bromo tour. The tour is conducted through a transfer to Cemara Lawang village, get the pony riding and trotting down the steep slope of Mts. Tengger, crossing the sea-of-sand, climbing up 245 steps to reach the awesome rim crater where like other tourists wait for the sunrise cracking up the day through its rays from the eastern range of Mts. Tengger (subject to the weather). Back to hotel for breakfast and departure to airport and fly to Bali. Upon arrival in Bali, meet and transfer to the hotel.

Day 11 Bali (B)
Full day Arts and Culture Experience
Tour begins with a stop at the village of Batubulan where you will attend a cultural performance of Barong and Keris Dance. Proceed to the artisan villages of Celuk, Mas and Ubud, the center of Balinese gold and silver jeweler industry, woodcarvings and art paintings. Drive up through rural villages and vast area of beautifully terraced rice fields in Tegal Lalang and drive to the 17th century holy-spring Gunung Kawi temple at Sebatu. Enjoy a cool break at the mountain village of Kintamani and breathtaking vista of the still-active Mount Batur and its crater-lake. On the way back, visit a pure traditional village at Panglipuran.

Day 12 Bali (B)
Half-day A Magnificent Tanah Lot Tour
Afternoon tour will take you to the village of Mengwi. The great royal temple of Pura Taman Ayun is built in the 17th century, the temple served as the family temple of the Mengwi dynasty, whose kingdom survived until the late 1800s. The temple is famous for its exquisite wooden merus, or pagoda-like shrines. The beautiful evening will be ended with a spectacular sunset at the famous Tanah Lot Temple, built on a volcanic out-crop on Bali’s rugged coast.

Day 13 Bali (B)
Whole day free for leisure.

Day 14 Bali (B)
Whole day free for leisure.

Day 15 Bali – Hong Kong (B)
Transfer to airport for your flight home.

Day 16 Hong Kong – Vancouver
