MIRI - KUCHING - IBAN LONGHOUSE - DAMAI
Day 1 Miri (lunch)
Arrive in Miri and proceed to the Niah National Park . Take a longboat at Pangkalan Lobang to cross the river. Visit the Niah Museum before heading for the Great Cave and the Painted Caves . You may see the controlled harvesting of bird's nest. Before returning to Miri, stop over at an Iban longhouse. Overnight at Rihga Royal Hotel in Miri, or similar.
Day 2 Miri - Kuching (breakfast, lunch)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kuching. Arrive in Kuching and transfer to the hotel. The many remaining English colonial buildings such as the Astana, Fort Margherita , the Court House and the Post Office, are worth seeing. Visit the State Mosque and the Sarawak Museum with its collection of artefacts and Chinese porcelain. Overnight at Holiday Inn or Hilton Hotel, or similar.
Day 3 Kuching - Iban Longhouse (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Today, visit the descendants of the headhunters for which Borneo is infamous. At Serian, visit the local market and you may like to buy some gifts for the tribal chief. Then, stop at a Pepper Garden to see how pepper is processed. Take a longboat to the longhouse. Rest or join the natives in their daily chores such as basket or mat weaving, mending fishing nets, feeding fishing. Evening join in the merry making of the Ibans, try their rice wine and join in their traditional War Dance; the ngajat. Overnight at a basic guesthouse.
Day 4 Iban Longhouse - Damai (breakfast, lunch)
During an early jungle walk, your Iban guide may show you how to use the blowpipe. Late morning, return to Kuching and proceed on to Damai Beach . The day is at leisure. Overnight at Holiday Inn Damai Beach , or similar.
Day 5 Damai (breakfast)
Whole day at leisure. You have the option of visiting the Sarawak Cultural Village adjacent to the hotel. Otherwise, you might like to rest and relax by the sea. Overnight at Holiday Inn Damai Beach , or similar.
Day 6 Damai Departure (breakfast)
Free at leisure until your transfer out for your onward flight.

Day 1 Kota Kinabalu
Meet and greet at the airport and transfer to hotel. Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah , was called Jesselton before, then, the capital of British's North Borneo Chartered Company. While most main buildings were destroyed during the Second World War, the city has a few unique landmarks. The Sabah Foundation Building is one of the few single-support building in the world. A visit to the Sabah Museum and Heritage Village provides a brief look at the historical and cultural background of the regions (closed on Fridays). Then, drive up Signal Hill for a bird's eye view of the city's commercial centre and the offshore islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park . Overnight at Hyatt Regency in Kota Kinabalu, or similar.
Day 2 Kinabalu National Park (breakfast, lunch)
After 2-hour north-eastward drive is Kinabalu National Park , a world heritage site. This is home to giant ferns, various Rhododendrons and most of all, to the majestic Mount Kinabalu . Experience a guided jungle walk in the forest approximately 2,000m above sea level and a visit to the Mountain Garden . Overnight at Hyatt Regency in Kota Kinabalu, or similar.
Day 3 Kota Kinabalu - Sandakan - Sepilok - Sukau (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
An early morning flight takes you to the historic town of Sandakan where upon arrival; you are transferred to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre to witness rehabilitation and rainforest conservation efforts by the State Wildlife Department. Lunch is a simple affair at the Centre's cafeteria before a two-hour drive to the Sukau River . Check in at the Sri Menanggol Cabins and enjoy a leisure afternoon before embarking on an upriver boat-ride to appreciate the many species of Borneo rainforest flora and fauna. Catch the mischievous Proboscis monkeys frolic.
Settle down for dinner and an overnight stay at Sri Mananggol Cabins.
Day 4 Sukau -Gomantong - Sandakan City - Kota Kinabalu (breakfast, lunch)
Wake up to the raucous calls of birds, insects and animals and greet a crisp, clean morning with a hearty breakfast. En route to Sandakan town, visit the famous birds' nests caves at Gomantong. Have lunch in Sandakan then tour the historic town prior to your flight departure for Kota Kinabalu. Overnight at Hyatt Regency in Kota Kinabalu, or similar.

Day 1 Singapore - Malacca (lunch)
Cross the Johor Bahru causeway into Malaysia . [Passport control involved] The tour commences when arrive into the historical city of Malacca . Chinese streets, antique shops, temples and buildings that reminds visitors of its past Portuguese, Dutch and English powers. Day 2 Malacca - Kuala Lumpur (breakfast, dinner with cultural show)
From Malacca, the tour heads on for the young vibrant metropolitan city of Kuala Lumpur . In slightly over 130 years, the city grew from wet and muddy mining grounds to a city of high rise buildings. What makes the city unique is that old colonial buildings still stand proudly in the Chinatown area while modern monoliths tower overhead in its surroundings.
In the evening, visit Chinatown at Petaling Street . Peddlers cries out for customers to buy their goods, ranging from local delicacies to Cds, VCDs, to T-shirts and souvenirs, etc. [Bargaining skills required] Dinner will be at a local restaurant serving Malay cuisine accompanied by a cultural show. Day 3 Kuala Lumpur (breakfast, dinner)
As Kuala Lumpur developed on the backbone of the tin industry, so is the household name of Royal Selangor. See how crude tin ores are transformed into pewter.
Set within a sugar loaf limestone hill, Batu Caves is a Hindu prayer complex with its shrine housed inside a cave. Every year during Thaipusam, Hindu devotees would accompany a silver chariot from the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Chinatown to Batu Caves , on foot. In the last festival, almost a million devotees had participated in the celebrations.
In the early afternoon, the tour brings us to Kuala Selangor. En route, visit a small cottage industry that makes oil lamps from clay. After dinner, board a boat for a short night cruise at Kampung Kuantan.This tour is best seen in total darkness. Fireflies (Pteroptyx tener) gather around 'berembang' trees and emit synchronised flashes of light.

Day 4 Kuala Lumpur - Cameron Highlands (breakfast, lunch)
Head on north, to the small town of Tapah at the base of the mountain range where Cameron Highlands is situated. Here you'll find a few families whose their livelihood depended on weaving bamboo baskets used for vegetable packing. Then, a short stop at the Lata Iskandar cascades and at Orang Asli huts along the winding drive up to Cameron Highlands , nestled on a plateau in the Titiwangsa Range . The plateau is marked by the rolling hill slopes of tea bushes. You may catch some labourers picking tealeaves along the way. A visit to a tea factory will give you a good idea of how tea is processed. Other places of interest include Rose Valley and the local market. Day 5 Cameron Highlands - Penang (breakfast, lunch)
Descend the highlands for the city of Ipoh . Stop at Sam Poh Tong, a Chinese temple enclosed in a limestone cave. Understand the many mythical symbolism as you enter the temple. It opens to a courtyard surrounded by limestone walls. Here, we find tortoises thriving in the 'longevity pond'. In Kuala Kangsar, a brief stop at the gilded domed Ubudiah Mosque and Iskandariah Palace . The first rubber tree is also found here. Cross Penang Bridge to Penang Island .

Day 6 Penang (breakfast, lunch)
Georgetown is proud of its old colonial buildings. Fort Cornwallis and the Esplanade are only two of the many nooks and corners that still bear old Victorian and Edwardian names. The Khoo Kongsi Clan House was one of the venues used for the film Anna & the King. The house features elaborately engraved masonry and woodcarvings. Kek Lok Si is where the Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas is located.
Day 7 Penang - Kota Bharu (breakfast, lunch)
Leave the Island City towards the East Coast. The drive takes you through Malays houses, rice fields and deep mountain forests. Stop over at the massive man-made Lake Temenggor at Banding for lunch. Kelantan, where Kota Bahru is located, is the last frontier of old Malay culture. Check out what the state cultural centre, Gelanggang Seni, has in store in the evening. Overnight at the Renaissance Hotel in Kota Bharu, or similar.
Day 8 Kota Bharu - Kuala Terengganu (breakfast, lunch)
The Central Market in Kota Bahru is not to be missed. You will notice that most of the traders are women. The city is also a haven for silverware and trinkets, as well as kite making, top spinning and Songket weaving.
Drive to the state of Terengganu. Overnight at Grand Continental Hotel/ Primula Parkroyal Hotel, or similar.
Day 9 Kuala Terengganu - Cherating (breakfast, lunch)
Terengganu, home to brightly painted fishermen boats, is also the home of many snacks which Malaysians enjoy. Crackers, made of fish kneaded in sago and stick rice cooked in bamboo, are among the many delicacies found in this state. At Cherating, monkeys pluck coconuts for farmers while some ladies weaves Pandanus leaves into mats.

Day 10 Cherating - Singapore (breakfast, lunch)
Down south, we find the town of Pekan - home to the royal family of the state of Pahang. This drive to Singapore is more tranquil. The landscape consists mainly of rubber plantations, occasionally interrupted by residential areas. The tour ends at the Johor Bahru causeway. Transfers will be provided for all to major hotels in Singapore .
