DAYS HOMESTAY AT BAAN MAE KAM PONG
Daily departure from Chiang Mai with English speaking guide.
ITINERARY:
CHIANG
MAI - BAAN MAE KAMPONG (-/L/D)
DAY
1 Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Chiang Mai. Drive
to MAE KAM PONG village, which is 1,300 metres above sea level.
The journey takes about 1 hour (50 kms.) from Chiang Mai. On the
way to the village, stops can be made at STONE GARDEN, TEEN TOK
ROYAL PROJECT and PHA NUM LORD CLIFF. Upon arrival at the village,
meet the chief of the village, who will introduce you to your
hosts and village guides. The village chief will brief you about
the village and the activities. Your hosts will take you to their
houses. After lunch, take a VILLAGE TOUR and observe the making
of local hats, bamboo furniture making, bamboo handicraft, herbal
products and the process of old tea leave fermenting. A visit
to tea and coffee plantations, the 7- level waterfall, local school
and temple are also included. Return to home and at leisure until
dinner. Dinner will be served at the community's centre.
During dinner, a welcoming ceremony, welcoming dance together
with local music (using local instruments) will be performed.
Overnight in the host's house.
BAAN
MAE KAMPONG - CHIANG MAI (B/-/-)
DAY 2 The next morning, offer alms to the monks at the village
temple, then return home for breakfast. After breakfast, transfer
to back to Chiang Mai.

NOT INCLUDED ARE other meals than described, beverages and
personal expenses.
THINGS
TO BRING ALONG: Towel, soap and personal toiletries, comfortable
clothing (during the cool season bring along some long-sleeved
shirts and trousers).
